Faculty Profile – Master of Education (MEd)

Discipline Lead – Faiza Qureshi, PFHEA

Faiza Qureshi is the Discipline Lead for the Master of Education portfolio at Murdoch University Dubai, where she provides strategic academic leadership across postgraduate education courses. She previously also served as Discipline Lead for the Foundation Program (2019–2025) and continues to play a central role in advancing teaching excellence across the campus. She chairs the Learning and Teaching Committee and leads Murdoch Dubai’s annual Learning and Teaching Conference, fostering innovation and evidence-informed practice in higher education.

Faiza lectures in the Master of Education and Graduate Certificate in Education courses, teaching across areas including education policy analysis, pedagogy in culturally diverse contexts, teaching methodologies, and educational research. She also leads the core TLC101 (Communication Skills for Undergraduate Study) unit, overseeing its delivery to Diploma students and supporting their academic transition and success.

With 18 years of experience across the education sectors in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, Faiza has held senior academic and leadership roles in both higher education and the school industry, including serving as Vice Principal of a British curriculum school. Her professional practice is grounded in a strong commitment to transnational education and student-centred learning in culturally diverse environments.

Faiza is a Principal Fellow of Advance HE (PFHEA) and remains actively engaged in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and educational research, with a particular focus on transnational education. She serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Learning and Teaching and has contributed extensively to peer-reviewed publications. Her broader scholarly contributions include service on an ELT journal editorial board, co-authoring an ESL textbook, and publishing creative fiction.

She is currently completing her PhD in Education at Murdoch University (Australia). She holds a Master of Education from Murdoch University (Dubai), a Diploma in English from the University of London (UK), and the ICELT qualification from Cambridge (UK). In addition to her PFHEA from Advance HE, she also holds SFHEA and AFHEA levels.
